The Perfect 👰 Honeymoon Crochet Bikini

Have you ever thought about what you would bring or wear if you had a beach honeymoon?
When I was making made-to-order crochet bikinis back in 2013, the most requested bikini set was the Arrowhead Halter Top and Desert Bottom also known as the Honeymoon bikini! I thought how amazing to not only have the perfect wedding dress but also the perfect honeymoon bikini, am I right?!
Customers would order way in advance as they knew hand made crochet bikinis are made to order and it would take time to make while factoring in shipping - as I was living in Dubai at the time.
They would be all excited about the order, meticulous about the sizing detail but even more ecstatic about the delivery! Not a secret anymore but sometimes I would even get orders from the husband- to- be as a honeymoon gift🎁 !! How amazing it that!
The Top
The Arrowhead Halter Top pattern is perfect for both small to large busted gals as the pattern includes cups sizes from A to F (I've made bigger ones too).
Although I have been informed by my larger bust customers that they'd prefer to add paddings like these as well as rubber band at the bottom of the band which helps with the support. So that's a good point to note!

The Bottom
As for the bottom, the Desert Bottom was initially made as a cheeky cut style but eventually Brazilian became the most requested style, so I decided to include that in the mix as well. Both pattern styles also come in a bundle set in my store.
Most crochet bikinis that I have seen in the market do not stretch as much as they should, so I made sure that each bikini bottom that I designed would have as much stretch and comfort to wear just as it would a regular spandex bikini. Hence all the bikini bottom patterns that I have written definitely fit the bill.
The Yarn
And if you're wondering about the yarn I used, it's basically a blend of cotton and elastane from Cascade Yarns. I do not recommend using pure cotton because just like any other cotton material, it will sag when it gets wet!
The best swimsuit yarns are the ones with elastane. Another yarn which I highly recommend as well is the Alize Diva Stretch but do note this yarn is much finer and you would have to adjust your gauge accordingly,
